What is Boreal Splat?
Boreal Splat is an iPhone and iPad tool for opening, inspecting, viewing, and converting Gaussian splat files. It focuses on dependable file intake and diagnosis rather than scanning, training, or cloud hosting.
Which file formats are supported?
Boreal Splat checks common 3DGS PLY schemas, SPZ versions 1–4, and known .splat layouts. Compatibility is based on the file's actual schema, not its extension alone.
Does Boreal Splat upload my files?
No cloud file service is part of the product. Core file parsing, viewing, inspection, screenshots, and conversion run locally on your device without an account.
Will every large file open at full quality?
No universal file-size or full-quality guarantee is made. The goal is a predictable outcome: open the file, use a safe display downgrade, or stop before an unsafe allocation and explain why.
Is Boreal Splat a 3D scanner or editor?
No. It does not capture scenes, train Gaussian splats, or provide a full point-level editing suite. It is focused on viewing, inspection, and file delivery workflows.
When will it be available?
Boreal Splat is coming soon. A public App Store link will be added here only after the listing is available.
